Hello dear wellness through yoga students! I look forward to our class this weekend!

~ Pheleshia

 This week’s theme is: Mudras

Reflection Questions

  • What would you be willing to do to prevent an illness?
  • What strategies do you use to put yourself first?
  • What self-care techniques do you use? How effective are they?
  • How can mudras become a part of your routine?
  • Start small in order to live success. Start with only 15 minutes a day. You deserve it. Make a plan and stick to it.

Students are encouraged to share their journal reflections on the Facebook group! This helps build our community of people interested in wellness! At the end of each weekly lesson, I will propose items to reflect or meditate upon. Please join our Facebook group where you can share and discuss with the other students in the group to extend our reflective and wellness journey throughout the week!

As part of our Power of Podcast: Encouraging Student Voices project, we are proud to release our first podcast: My 15 Year Overnight Success: An Interview with DJ Corchin.

Throughout the project, students of CDC Vimont and The Learning Exchange will be able to learn how to create their own podcasts through workshops and information videos to have their voices heard! In this interview, students prepared a list of questions for TLE podcast interviewer Chris Shee to ask DJ during the interview. Take a listen!

DJ Corchin is an author and illustrator of many children’s books. He uses his unique humor and wit to focus on socially conscious messages involving kindness and emotional awareness. Some of his other titles include, Do You Speak Fish?, A Thousand NO’s, Half-Cat, and Mystical Rules For My Magical Daughter.  DJ has both illustrated his own stories as well as worked with other talented artists such as award winning-illustrator and writer, Dan Dougherty.
